Yesterday was my first visit to Jurong Point post office. The reason why I went there is to get the new phone book and the business listing. Nobody wants them at home and I was thinking of putting them in the office so I can browse through the business listing when I’d like to purchase things for the project.
Anyway, I went there at 7 p.m plus. Only 3 persons were servicing the customers so I had to queue. Since this is my first visit, I was a bit confused with the queuing system there. They put line 1 and 2 for bill payments. Line 3 to 5 for all the postal services except the Speedpost service. And finally line 6 to 7 for bulky items and Speedpost. Since I figure that phone books are considered bulky item, I went to queue at line 7.
I had been queuing for more than 10 minutes (a considerably feat since there was only 2 person before me), when the officer called me to ask what my business were. I merely gave him the phone book slip and said “I’d like to take the phone book.”
He didn’t even look at me and merely pointed to the top of the slip.
Officer : Please read the instructions.
Me : Huh?
Officer : It says you can get the phone book from 21st August till September.
Me : Oops… *just realized that today is 16th August! o_O”* So sorry…
Officer : Get back on the 21st of August.
Me : Okay. So sorry… m-__-m *disappears from the post office*
Lesson of the day : Always check the instructions!
I have the bad habit of dashing nose first into things without properly checking it out first. Had landed in quite some troubles whenever I did such things, but apparently I still need to be thought a lesson >.< Must learn to put more attention next time. Thanks for the reminder Lord =)
